Vintage “Omega” Pendant by Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy 1960s
This Vico Magistretti Omega Pendant for Artemide, designed in 1962, is a true masterpiece of the 1960s and 1970s Italian design movement. Known for his pioneering work in industrial design, Vico Magistretti created functional yet artistic pieces that exemplified the sleek, forward-thinking ethos of the time, and the Omega Pendant is a prime example of his innovative approach to lighting design.
The pendant features a large open acrylic curved external lampshade that elegantly encases an opaline glass light globe sphere inside, offering a soft and diffused light that creates a warm ambiance in any room. The chromed structure has a cross-shaped metal frame that secures both lampshades together, as well as connects the pendant to the ceiling, giving it a structured, almost sculptural feel.
Not only is the design visually striking, but the height of the lamp can be easily adjusted to suit various lighting effects and spatial needs, adding to its functionality and versatility. The electric components have been professionally revised, ensuring that the lamp is in excellent working condition.
While the lamp shows minor signs of time, including some age-appropriate wear, there are no cracks or damages to either of the lampshades. Overall, this pendant is in very good condition for its age, reflecting the care and craftsmanship that went into its creation
