Elegant and cool lounge chair designed by P.J. Muntendam for the Dutch manufacturer Gebr. Jonkers around 1960. The Jonkers brothers were famous for their rattan chairs and furniture.
It features a teak frame, a rattan backrest and a black leather seat. Overall a very nice midcentury-modern chair, that will look good in any interior.
The armchair is surprisingly slender and space-saving but still very comfortable. The headrest can be removed, or the length adjusted by using the buttons on the straps, so it rests higher than shown in the pictures.
It's in good vintage condition, with some signs of age and use as to be expected from an original chair from that time. The rattan only shows very few flaws which shouldn't affect comfort or functionality.
