Belgium / 1960s / Coffee Table / Pia Manu / Metal, Stone, Chrome / Mid-Century / Vintage / Brutalist
Brutalist post-modern coffee table by the Belgian artist Pia Manu, handcrafted in the 1960s. This one-of-a-kind rectangular table features a mosaic tabletop crafted from various kinds of grey and brown stones and a chrome base. Signed Pia Manu on a side of the tabletop.
The table has a very brutalist look contrasting with the slate stones' subtle sparkle. A true piece of craftsmanship with a perfect balance between form, function, and art.
Pia Manu is a workshop from Ingelmunster, Belgium. Here, amongst others, Jules Dewaele and his son Koen Dewaele designed several design pieces during the 1960s. Pia Manu is still working along similar lines, with natural materials such as stone and travertine combined with ceramics.
Normal small wear marks.
