A pair of large Canton porcelain vases, or potiches, with polychrome decorations of court or palatine scenes, with figures in traditional dress, birds and flowers.
Each vase features alternating cartouches, with a cartouche depicting either dignitaries at a banquet, or company ladies, some holding a fan, followed by a cartouche decorated with birds on their branches, butterflies, foliage and flowers.
On the top of the neck, these scenes and decorations are repeated with a slight nuance.
Each vase rests on a round, turned and blackened wooden base.
Made circa 1950.
