A luxurious, hand-knotted Kayseri silk rug from Central Anatolia with a silk warp and pile.
The rug captivates with its delicate, harmonious patterns and elegant color scheme.
Of particular note is the artful use of metallic yarn (gold or silver threads), skillfully woven into the floral motifs. This technique, primarily employed in the first half of the 20th century (c. 1920–1950), lends the flowers a soft metallic shimmer without overpowering the natural beauty of the silk pile.
Thanks to the use of silk roots, the rug is exceptionally durable, soft to the touch, and exhibits a subtle, iridescent sheen that varies with the light.
