"Sydney Calling," from this beautiful phone bench, or "gossip bench" in English.
In times gone by, many calls to the outside world were made from this charming vintage bench with storage space for things like the phone book.
But even though we rarely, if ever, use landlines anymore, this piece of furniture has survived the test of time and still stands charmingly.
Features original green upholstery and is in very good condition. Traces of wear consistent with its purpose and age, but never distracting, making it ready for immediate use.
A nice detail: the inside is marked with an Australian hallmark.
Great as a decorative piece in your home or practical in the hallway, for example, for putting on your shoes.
