This rare "Tschung" floor lamp by Ingo Maurer was produced by M-Design in the 1980s and combines an engraved opal glass body by Vetri Murano with an original fabric shade. Both light sources – the glass body and the shade – can be switched on and off separately, creating a soft, graphic interplay of light. The lamp is labeled Vetri Murano on the glass and bears the original M-Design label on the base; an identical model is published in "Ingo Maurer – Designing with Light" by Bernhard Dessecker on page 181 (bottom right). Models of this design very rarely appear on the market; no sale of this variant has yet been recorded in any major auction databases. The lamp is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of wear. The original shade shows some stains and slight abrasion, which are usually more visible in the photos than in person. This lamp is sold in its original condition. A qualified electrician for electrical safety inspection and maintenance before use is mandatory.
