Elegant antique sugar bowl, circa 1880-1930, in silver-plated metal resting on a circular pedestal, with two elegant side handles and a pretty lid. The form is balanced and classic, decorated with beaded friezes running along the body and base, typical of French production of the period. Hallmarks visible under the base: "PT," a framed cat's head, a rather uncommon hallmark for early French silversmithing.
Approximately 17cm high with lid, 16cm wide with handles, maximum diameter approximately 10-11cm. Very good condition, with no silver plating loss, a patina from cleaning, fine micro-scratches on the surface, and a few discreet scratches from use, black marks inside. Weighs just over 300g.
