For sale: An authentic masterpiece of Gouda pottery. This slender vase features the sought-after "Novio-Magum" (Latin for Nijmegen) decor and is a beautiful example of Dutch Art Deco design from the 1920s.

Born 1892. Apprentice potter at Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland, later working at Lanooy, St. Lucas, and Zenith. He co-founded the 4 Mushrooms in Utrecht. In 1945, he founded 't Bolwerk, which was taken over by Gert de Rijk in 1965.
