This "Bomholm Scandinavian Lamp"
is a lamp from the "cactus" series by Noomi Backausen (active between 1960 and 1990) for the Danish brand Soholm Keramic, based on the island of Bomholm.
Søholm Pottery was a renowned Danish ceramic manufacturer, founded in 1835 on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. It became famous for its high-quality stoneware, particularly in the mid-20th century. Søholm is best known for its beautiful glazes, earthy tones, and modernist designs, often characterized by deep blues and browns.
This remarkable ceramic piece from the 1960s–1970s is distinguished by its circular graphic decoration in natural tones (green, ochre, beige), typical of Scandinavian design from this period. The craftsmanship of the material and the glaze gives the lamp an elegant, sculptural presence.
The base is made of glazed stoneware. The lamp is electrically assembled and sold without a shade.
The light perfectly highlights the textures and colors of this ready-to-use piece.
A decorative piece with character, sought after by lovers of Nordic design and Danish ceramics.
