Object:
2x Lounge Chair / Easy Chair
Description:
solid beech wood frame with slanted legs, completely sanded, stained, lacquered; backrest with horizontal tapered rungs; spherical armrests; new upholstered foam cushions; new cover with upholstery buttons; newly manufactured seat frame made of beech wood with new upholstery straps and new protective stretch fabric with additional foam insert; seams all executed as a fine fell seam according to the original pattern (with this type of seam, the individual cover parts interlock as with finger hooking and are then double stitched. This type of seam is therefore considerably more robust, has a significantly higher tensile strength and is significantly more durable than single / standard seams).
Manufacturer:
Danish furniture manufacturer
Material:
-solid beech, stained and lacquered
-Premium contract upholstery fabric
A particularly robust and heavy (almost 700g/rm) premium upholstery material with a very beautiful, striking woven look was chosen here, in which duotones bring out the woven structure even better. This structurally strong upholstery fabric is easy to care for and hard-wearing - it is characterized by a very high abrasion resistance of over 100,000 abrasion cycles and is therefore twice as durable as upholstery materials used for public facilities with very heavy use. (highest quality range according to Martindale) (from 50,000 abrasion cycles)
Excursus: abrasion resistance / abrasion cycles...
Abrasion resistance refers to the resistance of a fabric to abrasion. This value plays a particularly important role in the durability of a fabric. The most frequently used method to determine the abrasion resistance of textile fabrics, especially upholstery fabrics, is the Martindale method, named after the inventor. The natural wear and tear of a seat cover is simulated by machine. The revolutions (abrasion cycles) until the fabric is damaged are counted. The higher the number of revolutions, the more abrasion-resistant / hard-wearing the fabric is. The scale ranges from 6,000 to 100,000.
Color shade:
deep black / mottled gray
Info...
The photos are exposed in high light so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Colors are generally brighter as a result. The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reflect the natural color tones. Gloss on the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces are silk matt to silk gloss.
Dimensions:
Approx. W: 68cm; D: 77cm; Frame height 75cm; Sh: 43cm;
Condition:
This is quite easy to describe, imagine a new armchair. The result is so good that it is indistinguishable from a new one (if it existed). You will look in vain for signs of wear!
It should be noted that this is no cheap amateur painting job with a brush or roller and DIY store materials, but an elaborate professional spray paint job with traditional materials as used in the 60s and 70s. The result is a silky, glossy surface where the grain is clearly visible and can be "felt" with a pleasant feel.
Please bear in mind that other suppliers' quibbles such as "newly lacquered" are by no means synonymous with "spray lacquered". As already indicated, this usually means the typical "pasting" with a brush and roller and the associated unsightly properties such as clearly visible brushstrokes or the well-known "orange peel". You can recognize this immediately if you look at the furniture surfaces in question from the side against the light. If in doubt, ask questions about the type and method of lacquering or, even better, ask for backlit photos of the "newly lacquered" surfaces!
