About the item:
For sale is a striking piece of history: an antique Art Nouveau writing set with an integrated letter holder, crafted around the turn of the 20th century (1900–1910).
The piece is distinguished by its high-quality cast iron construction (magnetic cast iron), which clearly sets it apart from the lighter pewter pieces of this era. The design is characterized by the flowing, organic lines of Art Nouveau and features a detailed iris or lily motif. The model number 1281 is stamped on the back.
Weighing over 1.6 kg, the piece is very stable and is ideally suited as a sculptural letter holder or business card holder on a modern or antique desk.
Condition:
The metal is in good condition, commensurate with its age, with an authentic patina that underscores its antique character. There are no cracks in the cast iron.
Note regarding completeness: The original glass inkwell inserts are no longer present. Today, the recesses can be used wonderfully decoratively (left empty or for small parts).

Unlike common pewter items of that era, this piece is made of solid cast iron (magnetic), giving it a substantial quality and weight. The design features typical organic Art Nouveau lines with a detailed Iris/Lily motif. Marked with model number 1281 on the back.
Due to its weight (over 1.6 kg), it is very stable and serves perfectly as a sculptural letter rack or business card holder on any desk.
Condition report:
Good antique condition with authentic patina consistent with age. No cracks in the iron.
