This original WMF Ikora art glass bowl is an outstanding example of early modern German design, influenced by Art Deco and Bauhaus. It was manufactured in Geislingen, Germany, between 1928 and 1936.
The Ikora glassware was created under the artistic direction of Karl Wiedmann, one of the most important German glass designers of the 20th century.
The bowl features the characteristic radial sunburst decoration with metal oxide inclusions in turquoise and amber, giving the glass exceptional depth and luminosity. This special technique makes each Ikora piece unique.
