1st edition sculptural counterweight ceiling lamp designed by JJM Hoogervorst for Anvia Almelo, The Netherlands, 1955.
This lamp is an early 1950s version, unlike the later ones with plastic details, this version is all metal. This great lamp has an off-white lacquered arm, black shade and gray weight. The lamp balances in any position by turning the weight at the back. Also, the shade can be rotated in many ways. An ingenious system from one of Holland's best lighting manufacturers of its time. Quality comparable to Arredoluce and Stilnovo. The wiring has been checked and is in good condition and also suitable for the US. The paint has many visible signs of age and use.
