This set of four DSC 106 chairs is a landmark of Italian industrial design, created by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in the 1970s. A true icon of modernist office furniture, these chairs feature the signature cast aluminum frames and ergonomic plywood seats upholstered in a vibrant, original orange fabric.
A fascinating "fun fact" about this specific set: they originated from an IBM office in Austria, as evidenced by the original inventory tags still attached to the frames. These chairs represent a piece of corporate design history, combining high-end Italian aesthetics with the functional needs of a tech giant's workspace.
The chairs are in original vintage condition and show heavy signs of use. There is visible wear on the upholstery, including some fraying on the backrests, and the metal frames show a natural patina consistent with a busy office life. These are perfect for a restoration project or for those who appreciate the honest "lived-in" look of mid-century pieces.
