Productomschrijving
Bescheiden Sosaku Geisha Kokeshi. ========================================================= Modest Sosaku Geisha Kokeshi. This doll radiates a serene, modest beauty. With her downcast eyes, soft features, and a subtly styled updo, she embodies the timeless grace of a traditional geisha. The wooden head is enriched with a playful, striking hair decoration featuring white dots. Unlike the traditional dolls from Tohoku, the sosaku kokeshi (creative kokeshi) movement emerged after World War II. This granted artisans the artistic freedom to experiment with new forms, expressions, and techniques. The word 'Zaidou Plateau' is inscribed on the parasol. This specific creation honors the beautiful nature and culture of the Izu Plateau (also known as the Zaidou Plateau) and the famous mountain passes in Shizuoka Prefecture. An ode to this picturesque region has been paid to the parasol with refined calligraphy and a miniature depiction of a geisha. The height is 16 cm; please view the photos for the condition. Please note: The items are not new, so there will always be scratches, discoloration, and/or tears/dents present to a greater or lesser extent.
