Piretti
Hij is een productieve ontwerper met een overvloed aan creativiteit en is verantwoordelijk voor veel designiconen. Hiertoe behoren de "Alky" fauteuil (1969), de "Plia" stoel (1969) en de "Plona" stoel (1970). Zijn Piretti collectie, gepresenteerd op NeoCon in Chicago in 1988, is een wonder van innovatie. Giancarlo Piretti werd geboren in Bologna in 1940. Hij studeerde aan het Instituto Statale d'Arte en werkte daarna als ontwerper voor Anonima Castelli, waar hij verschillende meubelseries ontwierp. Het was het begin van een lange samenwerking van meer dan 20 jaar! Piretti werkte samen met grote namen in design zoals Emilio Ambasz aan het einde van de jaren 1970. Samen ontwierpen ze de ergonomische Vertebra en Dorsal stoelen. In de loop van zijn carrière heeft de ontwerper talloze prestigieuze prijzen ontvangen, waaronder de IBD, ASID, Compasso d'Oro en G-Mark awards voor de Piretti Collection.
