This pair of Tortuga armchairs by Beka Italia is a striking example of late‑1960s/1970s Space Age Italian design. Their sculptural silhouette, with bold geometric cut‑outs and low, architectural seating, makes them a statement piece for collectors and lovers of vintage interiors. The structure features white lacquered wooden side panels and deep, ergonomic seats originally upholstered in black faux leather with button‑tufted details. The design is unmistakably retro‑futuristic — perfect for modern lofts, creative studios, or anyone who appreciates iconic Italian design. Condition These armchairs are original from the period and show signs of age consistent with 50 years of use: Lacquer chips on the wooden panels Wear on the faux leather One seat has a visible tear (see photos) They are ideal for a restoration or reupholstery project.
