Vintage dining chair by d-Scan, Singapore, late 1960s–1970s.
A truly unusual and fascinating find — Danish modern–inspired furniture produced in Singapore during the golden era of Mid-Century design. While researching these chairs, I discovered that d-Scan was an actual Singapore-based manufacturer creating high-quality furniture influenced by Scandinavian modernism and exporting it internationally, particularly to Europe and the USA.
These chairs are made from solid hardwood and have beautifully stood the test of time for more than half a century. Their elegant proportions and refined lines strongly reflect the timeless Danish Modern aesthetic. Today, original d-Scan pieces are relatively rare and are found mostly in the United States.
The chairs have been carefully restored and newly upholstered by us in a premium furniture fabric inspired by soft Nappa leather, giving them a sophisticated and contemporary feel while preserving their vintage character.
