Mid Century Retro Teak Gentleman’s / Bachelor Wardrobe by Remploy (Circa 1960)
A fantastic mid century modern teak gentleman’s, or bachelor, wardrobe by Remploy, dating from the 1960s and combining clever storage with timeless Scandinavian-inspired design.
This well-designed piece offers excellent functionality in a compact, space-saving form. The larger section to the left features a hanging rail for clothes, while the inside of the door is fitted with a practical mirror for everyday convenience.
To the right, the upper section includes two drawers for smaller items and accessories, followed by a useful pull-down compartment offering additional storage space. At the bottom, a further cupboard section provides ideal storage for shoes or larger household items.
Crafted from quality teak, the wardrobe displays a warm and attractive grain throughout, complemented by clean lines and minimalist styling typical of the mid century era.
Remploy was a respected British manufacturer established to provide employment opportunities for disabled workers, producing a wide range of high-quality furniture throughout the mid 20th century. Their furniture became well known for its durability, practicality, and stylish modern design, making many of their pieces highly regarded today.
