A classic late 1940s early 1950s stool with marquetry attributed to Paolo Buffa and newly reupholstered luxurious Jim Thompson silk-mix velvet.
Walnut base with wood inlay marquetry trim throughout with signature tapered legs, characteristic of the designer.
The four strict tapered and elegant pointed shaped legs support the curved seat, having the front side smaller and widens on the back. This stool had been expertly reupholstered in a luxurious Jim Thomson silk-mix velvet animal weaved fabric in the brown, beiges and golden hues, finished with stud nails. The fabric is very soft and it is a pleasure to touch it.
The legs have been gently restored.
It would look amazing in a minimal or maximalist or any other interior as very stylish and elegant.
It can be easily decorate a living room, hallway, bedroom or as a piano stool!
Overall this piece is in a great condition and comfortable.
