Description du produit
An exceptional and rare piece of European mid-century studio pottery. This heavy, handcrafted stoneware (grès) table lamp features a striking tactile relief and a rugged, brutalist aesthetic that perfectly aligns with the famous 20th-century Flemish ceramic tradition.
The front of the column features a deeply incised, stylized emblem depicting a modernist Fleur-de-lis and a central cross in contrasting forest green and terracotta glazes. Below it, the name "SINT-JORIS" (Saint George, the legendary dragon slayer and patron saint of scouts) is embossed into the clay. The base has a beautiful, raw, natural beige slip glaze with a subtle crackle finish, giving it an ancient yet timeless, sculptural look.
With its rugged textures and symbolic folk-art iconography, this lamp is a fantastic statement piece for Eclectic, Mid-Century Modern, or Wabi-Sabi inspired interiors.

Condition (Base): The ceramic base is in pristine vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
Condition (Shade): The original mid-century fabric shade features a beautiful, intricate gold-and-pink metallic braided trim. It remains fully functional but shows an authentic aged patina with visible foxing/moisture spots (see close-up photos). It adds incredible character, but can easily be swapped out if you prefer a sleek, modern shade.
Electrical: Fully tested and working with original European wiring.
