We present this beautiful sculpture made of white marble, likely from Carrara. The sculpture dates back to the late 19th century. On the back is the engraved signature A. Cipriani, probably Adolfo Cipriani (1857-1941), an important Florentine sculptor, without authenticity.
This fantastic sculpture is truly fantastic both for its choice of subject and for its artistic quality, attributable to a sculptor who perfectly mastered sculptural techniques. A child attempts to get off a chair, a gesture that may seem banal but actually contains many profound reflections: the first simple challenges of childhood, the sincere and natural determination of a child, the desire to grow and emulate the gestures of adults. Furthermore, the choice of this composition and this subject allowed the sculptor to superbly express his ability to infuse dynamism into the sculpture with extreme naturalness. Observe the arms seeking the last hold on the chair while the body carefully rotates and the little feet seek a safe landing on the floor. The child, with a serene yet attentive expression, gazes down at the floor. The rest of the sculpture is equally remarkable in its rendering, with the natural folds of the fabrics and the perfectly sculpted straw chair.
We find this sculpture simply fantastic! If you're a sculpture enthusiast, this could be a perfect addition to your collection.
