Pair of Vintage Frosted Glass Shell Wall Sconces – Brass Mounts – Art Deco Revival, ca. 1970s–1980s
An elegant pair of vintage wall sconces inspired by the timeless glamour of the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods. Featuring beautifully sculpted frosted glass shades in the form of stylized seashells, these lights create a soft, diffused glow while adding a refined decorative presence to any interior.
The shell-shaped shades are mounted on curved brass supports, whose warm metallic finish contrasts beautifully with the satin translucency of the glass. The combination of organic forms and geometric detailing reflects the enduring influence of early 20th-century decorative arts, reinterpreted during the 1970s–1980s when Art Deco-inspired lighting enjoyed renewed popularity.
When illuminated, the frosted glass softly disperses the light, emphasizing the relief pattern of the shells and creating an inviting, atmospheric effect. Equally suited to a hallway, bedroom, bathroom, or elegant living space, these sconces offer both decorative appeal and practical lighting.
Condition is good vintage condition. Both glass shades have a small chip along the lower edge, as shown in the photographs. There are also a few minor imperfections and signs of age-related wear visible upon close inspection. The chips are discreet and are not visible when the shades are mounted and assembled. The brass mounts show light age-related wear and minor imperfections consistent with approximately 50 years of careful use.
