A dazzling and highly unique astronomical desk or table clock displaying the signs of the zodiac in an outer ring surrounding the dial and a brilliant blue celestial globe-cover with colored dots representing stars and planets, which then shields the clocks face and make the whole piece look like a planet similar to Saturn.
This astrological clock has a stunning and rare mid century modern design. It has a brass body and a cobalt blue earth or planet like appearance and is comparable in style to some nautical clocks where the dial is also positioned horizontally.
Manufactured by clock maker Europa in Germany in the 1960's.
It's a mechanical wind-up alarm clock that runs for approximately 2 days on one winding. Just like the globe cover the actual dial and clock movement can be rotated upside down to access it's back and wind it.
Fully functioning; runs on time and has a working alarm.
This timepiece is good vintage condition showing signs of aging like marks throughout the body and wear to the brass and cover. Please take a close look at the pictures to see exactly what you are purchasing.
