This iconic stool was produced by the German manufacturer Emsa during the 1960s, is a prime example of German Space Age design, a movement inspired by visions of the future, technology, and cosmic aesthetics. Produced in West Germany by Emsa, the model combines a light form, modern materials, and bold use of color, making it one of the most recognizable pieces of everyday design of the period. The stool's form is quintessentially late 1960s: futuristic, organic, with flowing lines reminiscent of the designs of Eero Aarnio and Joe Colombo.
