Add a touch of dramatic vintage charm to your walls with this unique oval oil painting on black velvet. This piece features a richly textured, vibrant bouquet of purple and red roses (possibly poppies) and blue cornflowers, hand-painted on a dark black velvet background that makes the colors pop. The velvet has a tactile, deep texture. It is set within a lovely, polished wood oval frame that has a black outer edge and an inner gold-gilded trim.
The artwork is in overall good vintage condition, as shown. There are small chips in the black outer edge of the frame. The back of the frame shows its construction with metal clasps holding the board and a simple metal hanger attached. A hand-written signature "Bishoff" is visible at the bottom of the black velvet field.
