A stunning example of British mid-century modern design, this teak oval extending dining table was designed by Victor Wilkins for G Plan’s iconic Fresco range in the 1960s. Elegant, practical, and beautifully proportioned, this table is a true design classic.
Crafted from warm, richly grained teak with the distinctive afromosia edge characteristic of the Fresco range, the table features a smooth fold-out extension leaf, allowing it to comfortably accommodate additional guests while maintaining a sleek, flowing silhouette when closed.
Its sculptural trestle-style base and softly curved lines reflect strong Scandinavian influence, making it a perfect centrepiece for both modern and vintage interiors.
Founded in the 1950s by E. Gomme Ltd. in High Wycombe, England, G Plan became one of Britain’s most influential furniture manufacturers. Renowned for their high-quality craftsmanship and Scandinavian-inspired modern design, G Plan furniture from the 1950s–1970s remains highly collectible and admired for its durability, elegance, and timeless appeal.
Victor Wilkins was G Plan’s principal designer during the 1960s and 1970s and the creative force behind some of the brand’s most celebrated ranges, including Fresco and Astrolite. His work is known for its clean lines, functional elegance, and strong Danish influence, making his designs enduring icons of British mid-century modern furniture.
