Van Beekum

Van Beekum was a prolific designer, working on a wide variety of projects from furniture and tableware to signage and corporate identity elements. He worked for prestigious clients such as Philips, Rado, and Royal Tichelaar Makkum. Van Beekum was also a dedicated teacher, teaching industrial design at the Arnhem Academy of Fine Arts and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He encouraged his students to explore new materials and production techniques, and to develop a deep understanding of the aesthetics and functionality of industrial design. Van Beekum died in 1991 at the age of 42.
