1950s original vintage Le Klint hand-folded acrylic pleated shade with a sculptural black metal floor lamp base. One available. This classic Scandinavian mid century modern floor lamp features an authentic stamped Le Klint shade, a Danish company famous and collectible for their origami pleated shades. It creates a beautifully warm, architectural, and atmospheric light. Paired with a simple slender tripod frame with an integrated magazine holder, this lamp is designed for reading beside a lounge chair or sofa, and is equally sculpture in its form. This rare vintage example has been fitted with an internal wire structure which preserves the iconic pleated silhouette without being visible when it is lit and unlit. The acrylic shade shows age-related wear including small tears and subtle warping acquired naturally over decades of use. These signs of aging show the authenticity of the piece, and do not visually distract from the lamp’s striking appearance both lit or unlit.
