Mid Century Vintage Teak Dining Room Set by Elliotts of Newbury Circa 1960
A very rare and exceptionally stylish mid century modern teak dining room set by Elliotts of Newbury, dating from the 1960s and showcasing outstanding British craftsmanship with strong Scandinavian influence.
This beautifully designed and highly functional set centres around a stunning tall sideboard featuring elegant sliding doors with striking sculpted handles. Inside, one section is fitted with glass shelving—perfect for displaying glassware or decorative items—while the other side features practical wooden shelving for additional concealed storage, in the middle are four drawers for even more storage.
What makes this set particularly special is the ingenious space-saving design: neatly stored beneath the sideboard is a matching extending dining table along with four dining chairs, all fitting perfectly underneath when not in use. An ideal solution for modern living, apartments, or homes where space and style are equally important. The table is on casters with an elevator mechanism so the table can easily fit underneath the sideboard and can be height adjusted when in use.
Crafted from beautifully figured teak, the entire set displays a rich and warm grain throughout, enhancing its timeless mid century appeal.
Elliotts of Newbury (EON) was a highly respected British manufacturer known for producing quality furniture during the mid 20th century. Originally involved in aircraft production during the Second World War, the company later became celebrated for its well-crafted modern furniture, often inspired by Scandinavian and Danish design principles. Their pieces are now highly collectible for their quality, practicality, and distinctive styling.
