A refined pair of classical side chairs manufactured in Czechoslovakia around 1950. This elegant duo showcases the enduring appeal of Central European cabinetmaking, characterized by a clean linear silhouette, subtly tapered legs, and an arched crest rail featuring an integrated ornamental splat.
The suite has undergone a thorough professional restoration. The timber structures have been carefully cleaned and re-polished to revitalize their rich, warm amber patina while maintaining historical authenticity, yielding a structurally sound, stable, and rigid frame. The drop-in seats have been newly upholstered in a sophisticated, premium ivory-based textile woven with a detailed botanical and floral motif. Combining mid-century restraint with traditional decorative accents, this versatile pair is perfectly suited for use as dining end chairs, desk seating, or standalone accent pieces within an elegant historical or transitional interior.
Condition Report:
