Rare “Bonsai” table lamp designed by Josep Llusca for Blauet in Barcelona in the 1990s. This iconic Spanish mid century modern piece features an asymmetrical sculpted cedar wood base with a flowing, organic silhouette reminiscent of a bonsai tree trunk, elegant and architectural.
The original parchment lampshade is finished with hand-sewn brown thread forming a distinctive criss-cross pattern and decorative stitched edging, adding handcrafted character and subtle visual texture. When lit, the shade diffuses a warm, ambient glow.
A highly collectible design that blends natural materials with modern form, this Bonsai lamp is a standout statement piece for lovers of vintage European design, Spanish modernism, and sculptural lighting.

Condition
Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The cedar wood base shows a visible crack along one side, along with minor surface wear and small areas of finish loss. The crack is stable and does not affect the structural integrity of the lamp. The parchment shade shows patina, light staining, and has a small tear on the top part of the shade. The hand stitching is intact. Fully functional.
Safety and Compatibility:
Wiring is functional, fits an E27 bulb (European), 240V. Plug in with an in-line switch. May need adaptation depending on your country’s standards. Use a LED bulb to protect parchment paper shade.
