Exceptional and highly collectible modular seating set attributed to Carl Straub, produced in Germany during the 1960s–1970s.
The set features a striking brutalist solid ashwood construction with characteristic carved details and thick original cognac leather cushions with a beautiful natural patina. The warm leather tones combined with the dark stained wood create a sculptural appearance strongly reminiscent of high-end European brutalist and Brazilian modernist furniture of the era.
The configuration consists of 8 modular elements:
2 armchairs with armrests — 64 × 76 × 80 cm
5 armless lounge elements — 64 × 71 × 80 cm
1 modular side table — 71 × 71 × 30 cm
The table can be positioned freely between modules.
Condition: The wooden structure is solid and stable throughout. The support straps beneath the seating have been professionally replaced using high-quality straps matching the original specifications.
The original leather cushions remain fully intact and unrestored: no tears, no repairs, no structural damage. The wood shows minor signs of age and small chips consistent with authentic vintage condition and desirable patina.
