The Eames Time-Life Lobby Chair, conceived by Charles and Ray Eames in 1960 for the Time-Life Building in NYC, epitomizes mid-century modern elegance. Crafted with an aluminum frame and sumptuous leather upholstery, its iconic design seamlessly blends comfort and sophistication.
This specimen, a tilting and swivelling ‘executive’ model (ES104) with 4 star base and castor wheels. It has been manufactured sometime between 1961 and 1985 by Fehlbaum-Production (later renamed in Vitra).The chair has been newly upholstered in 2020 with 'old saddle black' leather and has since hardly been used. The leather is in mint condition, the aluminum frame shows signs of use over the past 50 years.
