A beautiful, atmospheric collection of 48 old images, 44 of which are framed. Dating from between approximately 140 and 80 years ago.
Take a look:
* that large photo in a hardwood frame: is that Queen Juliana?
* and see that simple but proud Prussian soldier with a Pickelhaube (spiky helmet) and his wife. See the look in his eyes, that sturdy mustache
* the large image (charcoal) on the right on the bench: according to the expert, that is Eduard Douwes Dekker, alias Multatuli. The famous Dutch author of 'Max Havelaar'
* the woman with the short hair and the blouse richly adorned with ruffles. What does she radiate?
* the two young women with their Marlene Dietrich-like grandeur
* and the last photos, with personal notes and labels on the back
Prints are between 14 and 64 cm high.
Net total weight 38 kg. You may pick up the collection (or have it picked up) in Nijmegen.
