The contours of her characters are depicted in spacious areas applied with a brush or spatula. In layer upon layer, a vital suggestion of man becomes, the lively communication between people, spontaneously and intuitively awakened in paint on the flat surface. Her figures radiate emotions such as curiosity, jealousy and resignation. Human groups are bound together by rough paint rhythms. Willemsen works with acrylic paint. It dries faster than oil, which suits her temperament better. She opts for bright and primary colors and in this the artist shows her positive attitude to life. Can I show the mutual relationship? Who are interested in each other and who are not? And how do I capture that on the canvas? It continues to inspire me.
