Description

A rare and iconic "Le Bambole" sofa designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia (then C&B) between 1970 and 1972. The collection was an absolute success and an instant classic, winning the prestigious "Compasso d'Oro award" in 1979 It is still being produced. The current piece, labeled B&B on the stitching on the front right, was made in the early 1990s. The inner foam padding is in perfect condition and feels like new when seated. The upholstery is factory original and has been personalized through various washing and painting steps to give it a distressed feel. It now shows a very material aspect and resembles natural textures of vegetation, but at the same time gives the feeling of rusty metal. The colors range from petrol gray to rust red and the result is absolutely enchanting. The fabric is generally in good condition and the customization process has not compromised its structural integrity in any way. The stitches are also in great shape.
