In 1963, the Danish furniture factory Haslev Møbelsnedkeri introduced a series of tables designed and made by ceramist and visual artist Tue Poulsen. In combination with the quality that the manufacturer normally strives for in its furniture, the result of the successful collaboration is an exceptionally beautiful series of tables. It is striking that Poulsen has only just graduated from the vocational school and in 1963, the year in which the see the light of day, start your own studio. Made of solid wood, and inlaid with a large mosaic full of special shapes and beautiful colors, the whole is even somewhat reminiscent of a true work of art. The tables find their way throughout Europe and are sold in shops with a very modern, predominantly Scandinavian oriented collection for that time. Those who dared to opt for these unique tables from 1963 onwards belonged to the "Moderns" and were ahead when it came to style and the latest trends. In recent years there has been a growing interest in tables with a natural stone or ceramic mosaic. Work by the Dutch "Paul Kingma" but also the Dane "Tue Poulsen" are now highly sought after internationally. This copy is in an exceptionally beautiful condition and comes from the first owners who bought this table new around 1963. The top and the base can be transported separately from each other, so this table can also be placed in smaller houses / upstairs apartments.
In good condition with light traces of use appropriate to the age of the item
