Product description
Set of two decorative blue and white glazed earthenware bowls, 19th century Spanish Fajalauza, hand-made and hand-painted.
Fajalauza is a style that originated in the 16th century in the Albaicin district of Granada, known for its blend of Christian and Andalusian cultures, as seen in the Alhambra palace overlooking the Albaicin.
Each piece is unique in that it is entirely handmade, and the addition of the Mediterranean air lends it a captivating, indisputable charm.
The hand-painted motifs are usually flowers, birds and plants, principally the pomegranate fruit, which is the symbol of the city of Granada.
As can be seen from the images, all eight bowls are in good condition, although some have small glaze chips.
