Johnny Rolf. Ceramic fantasy sculpture. The height is 35cm. Marked on the back. In good condition. 1 small restoration at the head. Period 1970's. Johnny Rolf was trained as a potter by Jan de Rooden, with whom she started a studio in 1958 and married. One of her students was the Dutch ceramist Mariet Schmidt, born in Schiedam in 1935. In 1962 Rolf took part in an exhibition of six young ceramists from Amsterdam in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, together with Hans de Jong, Sonja Landweer, Johan van Loon, Jan de Rooden and Jan van der Vaart, who explored the renaissance of traditional ceramics in the Netherlands. . In 1966 she was a guest designer at the porcelain factory Gustavsberg in Sweden. Her work is included in major museums: Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, Princessehof in Leeuwarden, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and in private collections.
