Description

A heavy and chrome-plated table/desk lamp by Gispen. Balanced by mechanical counterweight and therefore adjustable. Can rotate 360 degrees on foot. Beautiful design from Dutch soil. With some spots at the foot and a few small scratches on the hood. See pictures. Not bothersome and barely visible in use. A smaller price because of that. Height 56 to 82 cm Diameter hood 12.5 cm E27, switch in cord.

Gispen is al meer dan honderd jaar ontwerper, producent en leverancier van designmeubilair en kantoormeubelen. In 1916 werd het bedrijf opgericht door Willem Hendrik Gispen. Deze naam kennen we ook wel onder de afkorting W.H. Gispen. Na zijn studie werd W.H. Gispen ontwerper bij een Rotterdamse fabriek voor siersmeedwerken. Dit noemen we ook wel een kunstsmederij. Ondernemend als hij was, nam hij in 1916 de fabriek over en gaf het de naam Kunstsmederij W.H. Gispen & Co. Sindsdien is Gispen een begrip geworden. Het designmerk staat bekend om haar klassiekers. Ontwerpen als 412 stoel, de Giso lampencollectie en het President bureau zijn toonbeelden van innovatie, design en kwaliteit. Een selectie van historische Gispen producten wordt nog steeds gemaakt.
