Flax ottoman, 140 meters. Designer: Christien Meindertsma. Material: flax. The Flax Ottoman is a flax pouf that is part of the Flax Project. With this project, Christien Meindertsma succeeded in making products with locally produced flax. She designed this sturdy ottoman inspired by the rope making craft. She went in search of the source of 16th Century Dutch rope. ( = flax from Zeeland) The fibers are spun into yarn and then woven, braided and knotted into an ottoman. The cord is 140 meters long.
