Luit van der Helm has been successfully active in the furniture industry since the eighties as an entrepreneur and designer.
Under the name Van der Helm Design, Luit sells its own range of furniture to more than 100 stores. The range consists of armchairs, dining room chairs, cabinets and dining room tables that are designed and produced by Luit.
As a designer, Van der Helm is often asked by large furniture companies to set up a new collection. He has done this for dozens of companies nationally and internationally. In 1997 and 1998, Van der Helm was awarded the Home Trade Center trophy, the Oscar for the furniture industry, beating renowned designers such as Jan des Bouvrie and Peter van den Ham.
