An exceptional piece from the iconic Meltingpot collection by Dirk van der Kooij, produced in 2019. This is the large Double Base model — a table that seats 10 people and is an instant eye-catcher in any room.
The Design
The Meltingpot series gives a third life to recycled plastics from the Dirk van der Kooij studio: discarded chairs, vases, prototypes, and color samples are pressed under high pressure into solid, monolithic slabs. Each piece is an interplay of chance, intuition, and craftsmanship — and is therefore, by definition, unique.
This Piece
The color palette is warm and picturesque: ochre yellow, terracotta, off-white, mint green, and powder pink alternate in an abstract, organic pattern. The tabletop rests on two characteristic conical legs made of the same material. The table comes from a professional office environment and is in excellent condition.
