How do you describe your style?

My style is eclectic: a surprising mix of different styles. I like it when an interior is very personal and therefore original. I also like to mix old with new. Think of a ceiling with ornate ornaments and/or a classic fireplace with sleek steel doors. I create an interior with a lot of love and passion, from the house itself to every piece of furniture and every accessory. That way I can tell you something about everything at home. I like statements and individuality in an interior, but above all it must radiate warmth and cosiness for those who live there. A nice livable house.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Watch, listen and talk anytime, anywhere. People, travel, online, museums, nature. I find inspiration everywhere. I am looking for the right translation for every project. Atmosphere is in you. Everyone has their own atmosphere. The trick is to feel and understand this. You cannot learn to apply atmosphere.

What are your ultimate design icons?

1) Dining chairs by Charles & Ray Eames. These über popular dining chairs by the American designer couple are still popular. And rightly so, because even after almost 60 years, the chair remains a design gem. I especially love the fiberglass version. I myself have three at our kitchen table that I have had for many years and will never get rid of.
2) Togo Ligne Roset. When Michel Ducaroy conceived this sofa in 1972, he wanted to create a sofa that was perfect for siestas and lazy evenings and he succeeded!
3) Tulip table, Knoll studio.
Designer Eero Saarinen had had enough in 1957 with "the ugly, confusing, restless world that played out under tables and chairs". That's why I think he designed the solution: this beautiful tulip table supported on a single leg.
